Match the slab to the frame.
A separate top can give you the wood you want, but a matching width alone cannot establish that a frame will support it.
Read both sets of instructions
Get the top's width, narrowest depth, thickness and weight. Get the frame maker's supported top dimensions, load limit and mounting instructions. Include monitors, arms and other equipment in the load. A standing frame also needs a usable sitting and standing height once the top's thickness is added.
Check where the parts meet
Ask whether the top has predrilled holes or inserts that match your frame. Check for a flat mounting area and enough sound wood around fasteners. A clamp needs its own flat area. Follow the top and frame makers' instructions for fasteners and for wood movement; do not assume a screw pattern from another desk will fit.

Some photographs show a complete desk while the product link sells only a desktop. Read the included-parts list, then ask about shipping, assembly and the return terms for a custom slab. A maker may need to approve your exact pairing before you order.
